1. What Type of Fishing is Best?

For the avid fisherman all kinds of fishing are great. However, the choice usually comes down to what is most convenient or fits with the budget. If you love fishing but are on a budget you will choose the kind that costs the least. Since buying or chartering a boat may be out of the question, you will usually choose to fish from the pier or riverbank with a rod that is not expensive. Or you might simply choose the type of fishing that is done near to where you live for convenience.

Fly fishing is a popular kind of fishing that almost everybody knows about. Fish love insects; there is nothing that attracts fish more than insects that simply fall into the water. Since it’s not at all sensible to keep a box full of live and buzzing bugs on your boat many people use bought or homemade lures that resemble live insects. There are some fish that respond easily to colorful lures. This is why the success of the angler tends to vary a lot with the effectiveness of their lure. You could fly fish from the shore, put on those large rubber waders and wade out in the stream. Or you could consider fishing from your boat.

The second item on your list is deep sea fishing. Going out into the deep sea on a boat is fun. This is what this kind of fishing is all about. This kind of fishing happens to be pricier compared to other kinds of fishing as you will need a nice boat and sufficient fuel so that you can go out to the deep waters and catch fish. Do you plan to catch large fish? Then you should get some highly specialized equipment. First off, large fish are strong! They can put up quite a fight so you’ll need a very strong fishing pole, a specialized reel and high strength line.

You will also need some way of anchoring to the boat so that your fishing pole does not get yanked out of your hand and fall into the water. There are several kinds of mounts for fishing poles and even captain’s chairs that secure the pole and keep it from getting out of your grasp. If you intend to go after the big fish, make sure that you go with an experienced angler, especially on your first trip out.

Deep sea fishing calls for a boat and the boat is supposed to withstand all kinds of weather conditions. You need a boat which is capable of handling huge waves just in case bad weather kicks in unexpectedly. You should not go deep sea fishing on things like canoes or small sized motor boats – it can be taken for granted that those cannot handle big waves. Do not go for used pontoon boats. These boats are incapable of handling large waves due to their bow being a foot from the level of water. Bear in mind that deep sea fishing is expensive. You’ll require a lot of fuel to get out there. When you troll, you will get to use much more fuel than usual. Of course you can charter a boat, but that is also expensive.
