What Is Facebook?
Facebook is a social networking site. It is an online gathering place for people to connect with friends and family. At one time it was only available to a select number of college students, but has since been opened to anyone above the age of 13 with a valid email address. Facebook allows people to easily collect and share information on a large scale.
Why Do You Care About Facebook?
You should care because Facebook has over half a billion members and that number continues to grow. Facebook also gets a ridiculous amount of web traffic. Although there is some argument, most people have Facebook ranking in the top 3 of all websites online. Some people claim Google is the only site used more, and some argue Facebook has outdistanced Google. Alexa.com has Facebook ranked 2nd, right behind Google:

Regardless of where it officially lands, the fact is, it is a highly used website. Having approached businesses in the past, I was surprised that they were so wary of Facebook. Many businesses claimed their customers simply weren’t on Facebook. Your customers not on Facebook?
