It is a sad but true fact that we humans tend to pay little attention to teeth.  Other maladies seem to get our attention very quickly but we usually pay no attention to teeth.  That is, until the pain hits.  Once that happens, suddenly our teeth get the attention they deserve.  Unfortunately, by the time that happens it’s more often too late to do anything to save the affected tooth or teeth whatever the case may be.

Nothing enhances self-esteem more than a beautiful smile.  However statistics show that 69% of adults ages 35 to 44 have lost at least one permanent tooth to an accident, gum disease, a failed root canal or tooth decay. Furthermore, by age 74, 26% of adults have lost all of their permanent teeth.

Decades ago, the only other treatment for patients like this was a fixed bridge of removable dentures. This solution is not perfect and come with a specific set of problems.  While speaking and even while eating these dentures can slip or even create a clicking sound.  The worse side effect of these however, is the problems they cause for the adjoining teeth that are healthy.  They can cause bone loss and even lead to periodontal disease and decay. They lead to higher cost because of a 7 to 15 year shelf life and must be replaced.
